AUBURN – Kathleen Jane (Peterson) Corey, 65, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19th at the Sandlewood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Oxford, after a long illness.
She leaves her husband, Charles A. Corey, two sons, Ryan J. Corey and his wife, Danielle of Wilmington and Daniel A. Corey and his wife, Karen of North Attleboro, a brother, Jeffrey T. Peterson, and two granddaughters, Hallie and Hannah Corey; many nieces and nephews. She was born on the island of Vinalhaven, Maine and is predeceased by her parents, Thorolf and Winona (Ross) Peterson, and two brothers, Ira and Ronald Peterson.
Kathleen was a kind and gentle soul who cared deeply about her family and her spirituality. She held a strong love of reading, arts and crafts, trivia, church, lighthouses, the ocean, and New England, especially her home state of Maine. Her favorite tradition was celebrating holidays and sharing gifts with her loved ones.
Kathleen's calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24th with her funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101A First Ave., Waltham, MA 02451 or www.nationalmssociety.org .
