MILLBURY - Katie (Katherine) Lee Gaucher, passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born in Worcester on December 18, 1989 to John T. and Lisa M. Gaucher and as a twin to her sister, Lindsey Gaucher Grant.
Katie grew up in Millbury, graduating from Millbury Jr./Sr. High School in 2008. She worked at Stop & Shop through high school and attended Worcester State University and Quinsigamond Community College. Katie was a member of the track team in high school and enjoyed playing pick-up basketball amongst other activities with her friends.
Katie was a gifted florist whose work brought beauty and joy to those around her. Her talent for creating stunning floral arrangements was not just a career but a true passion. Over the years, she built a reputation for her meticulous attention to detail, her artistic eye, and her unwavering commitment to her craft. Whether arranging flowers for weddings, special events, or everyday moments, she had an extraordinary ability to transform any space into something beautiful.
In addition to her work as a florist, Katie had a deep love for music and horror movies. Like her family, Katie’s love for music brought her to countless concerts all over the East Coast. From a young age, she was always an avid skier and a lover of the great outdoors; a true New England explorer.
Katie was known not only for her talent but also for her warmth and kindness. She had an innate ability to connect with others, offering a listening ear, thoughtful advice, and unwavering support to her friends and family. Her infectious laughter, bright smile, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving mother, Lisa M. Gaucher of Millbury, her brother John Alexander Gaucher and his fiancé Jennifer Lynn Nicoll of Jefferson, MA, and her twin sister Lindsey Gaucher Grant and her husband Clark Grant of Kansas City, MO, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Katie was preceded in death by her dear father, John T. Gaucher.
Memorial services will be private and a tribute concert will be held in the summer. Katie’s memory will live on through the love she shared with her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to experience her warmth and creativity.
