MILLBURY – Kenneth A. Grundstrom, 83, died Saturday, May 1st in the Millbury Health Care Center.
He leaves his wife, Ruth E. (Salo) Grundstrom; three children, Karen L. wife of Joseph Kosiba, Donna L. wife of Kenneth Elie and Sandy B. wife of Billy Lynch all of Millbury; five grandchildren, Joey and Lauren Kosiba and Steven, Scott and Brian Elie; a brother, William Grundstrom and his wife Arlene of Sutton; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents Carl and Gertrude (Thunberg) Grundstrom, a brother, Herbert Grundstrom and a sister, Gertrude Johnson.
Kenneth was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal service in Worcester for 32 years, retired in 1985. He was a Navy veteran during WW 11, serving in the Philippines and was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge of Masons and the Scottish Rite of Worcester and Boston. The family would like to thank the staff at the Millbury Health Care Center and the Millbury Adult Day Health Care Center for their compassionate care. He was an avid Holy Cross College football season ticket holder for over 60 years.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6th in the First Congregational Church, 148 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 5th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be private. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the Millbury Adult Day Health Care Center, 10 Colonial Dr., Millbury, MA 01527 or to the Learning Center, 1 Ionic Ave. Worcester, MA 01608.
