MILLBURY - Kenneth R. Manning, 91, of 88 McCracken Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, in Providence Extended Care Center in Worcester.
He leaves his wife Dorothy M. (Belanger) White Manning; a daughter, Joan Caforio of Millbury; a son, Kenneth D. Manning of Worcester; two step-daughters, Dorothy Lucier of Rhode Island and Linda Davis of Auburn; a step-son, Ronald White of Millbury; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a son James C. Manning of Pembrook and a brother, Paul H. Manning of Charlton. He was born in Leominster, son of Charles and Louise (Sykes) Manning and lived in Charlton before moving to Millbury 19 years ago.
Mr. Manning was a machinist at Wyman Gordon Company, in Worcester, retiring in 1974. He then worked in security at the former Fair Department Store and at the former EddyTM)s Clothing Store both in Worcester, before he retired.
He was a member of the Millbury Auxiliary Police, the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club and was a Deputy Sheriff in Worcester County. He was a CB radio operator and enjoyed hunting.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St.. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in the funeral home.
