MILLBURY - Kenneth C. Thompson, Sr., 77, passed away on October 14, 2024 at Care One in Millbury, Ma after a long illness.
Ken grew up in Millbury, Ma and after graduating from St. John’s High School, Ken enlisted in the U.S. Marines where he served and fought in Vietnam. He was a highly decorated Marine to include the Purple Heart. After his military service he was employed with the Wyman Gordon of Worcester/Grafton to which he worked until retirement. Ken was very involved in Veteran groups to include The Elks club, Vietnam Veterans of America, Sons of the American Legion and The American Legion. He held a very strong and loving presence at The American Legion Chester P. Tuttle Post 279. He was an officer of the Post for over 24 years and held the high position of Commander 2007-2008.
He will be dearly missed by his Comrades and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Ken will be held on Monday November 18th between 4 to 6pm at the American Legion Chester P. Tuttle Post #279, 88 Bancroft Street, Auburn, Ma 01501 in the Tuttle Lounge.
