SUTTON - Larry E. Hicks, 74, died Tuesday, May 9th at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Carolyn A. (Meighan) Hicks; a son, Timothy E. Hicks and his wife, Diane of Auburn; a daughter, Lisa M. Quinn and her husband, Kevin of Millbury; seven grandchildren, Connor, Brendan and Brady Hicks and Andrew Bjork and Ciara, Caitlin and Tiernan Quinn; a brother, Allan Hicks and his wife, Rona of Vermont; three sisters, Barbara DeMauro of Millbury, Carol Clements of Florida and Florence Kulborkas of Northborough; two brothers-in-law, Richard Meighan and his wife, Cynthia of North Carolina and William Conway of Grafton; many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Harry J. Hicks, Sr. and Florence (Emmott) Hicks, his twin brother, Harry J. Hicks, Jr. and a sister, Eleanor Conway.
Larry grew up in Millbury and graduated from Millbury High School in 1961. He moved to Sutton with his wife, Carolyn in 1968 where they raised their two children, Tim and Lisa. In his early years, Larry worked at Bay State Abrasives and also owned a local vending business, retiring after over 35 years of service. Larry was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. Larry was most happy while working in his yard, around his home and spending time with family. He was an avid sports fan and never missed a Patriots game.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12th at Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 N. Main St. in Millbury. His Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday May 13th at St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Pigeon Hill Cemetery in Sutton.
