MILLBURY – Lawrence O. "Boots" Boutilier, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 4th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife, Margaret A. (Cristo) Boutilier; a daughter Diane Brisson and her husband, Stephan, and his son Tim Boutilier all of Millbury. In addition, he leaves his sister, Ruth Hobin of Worcester and 6 grandchildren, Heather (Boutilier) Stoddard of Sutton, Matt Brisson, Ashley (Brisson) Rajchel, Ryan Boutilier, A.J. McClintock and John McClintock all of Millbury and 3 great grandchildren. Boots was predeceased by four siblings; Bernie Boutilier, Relma Piper, Doris Pritchard, and Mildred Simon.
He grew up in Bramanville, the son of the late Lindsay and Odessa Boutilier and graduated from Millbury High School where he played football. After marrying his beautiful wife Marge at the Asa Waters Mansion, Boots and Marge raised their family on Dorothy Pond. He was employed as a wire drawer at the former New England High Carbon Wire Company in Millbury, working there until the plant closed. Boots was a loving husband and father, who enjoyed vacationing with his family at Hampton Beach. He loved both deep sea and freshwater fishing. He was also an avid Red Sox fan.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7th in St. John's Episcopal Church, 3 Pleasant St., in Sutton. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury.
