Lawrence L. Richards, 78, of Millbury, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Dionne); sons, Christopher, and Bryant and his wife, Heather (Mulcahy); stepson, Jason Budzyna; sisters, Sheila Hill and Barbara; sister-in-law, Helena; nephews, Matthew, Lucas, and Beech and his wife Heather (Leach); niece, Jamie Hill; grandson, Noah; step-grandchildren, Kaylee Lambert, Joshua Salsich, Laurel Budzyna, and Alex McIntosh; great-nieces and nephew, Nora, Mila, Taya and Jonah.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence R. and Shirley (Nichols) Richards; his brother, Robert; and his nephew, Mark.

Born and raised on Lake Singletary in Sutton, MA, Larry was the oldest of four children and a lifelong caregiver to his family. While attending UMass Amherst, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served a tour in Vietnam in 1968, stationed at the Eighth Radio Research Station in Phu Bai. He was exposed to Agent Orange during his service and faced long-term health challenges as a result.

Despite these hardships, Larry built a meaningful life. He worked for 30 years at the Social Security Administration in Worcester, MA, serving individuals with disabilities. A devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, he was known for his kindness, humor, and generosity. He will be sorely missed.

Family will honor and celebrate Larry’s life privately.
