MILLBURY Lawrence R. Richards, 84, of Millbury, died Thursday, April 12, 2007. His beloved wife, Shirley M. (Nichols) Richards, died in 1999.
He is survived by his son, Lawrence L. Richards and wife Sharon; daughters, Sheila Hill and Barbara Richards; daughter-in-law, Helena Richards; sisters, Leona Mumley and Norma Tuttle; granddaughter, Jamie Hill; grandsons, Christopher, Matthew, Bryant and wife Heather, Lucas, and Beech Richards; great-grandchildren, Nora and Noah. He was predeceased by his son, Robert, and grandson, Mark.
Larry grew up in Alburg, Vermont, the son of Hurbin and Irene Richards. He resided on Lake Singletary in Sutton before moving to Millbury in 1992. He was a loving family man, who will be sorely missed.
A World War II Navy Veteran (1942-45), he spent almost four years at sea. He was a life member of the VFW Post 3329 in Millbury. Larry worked as a wire drawer at New England High Carbon in Millbury, before retiring.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 21st in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., in Millbury. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
In gratitude for their excellent hospice care, his family suggests memorial donations be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
