Len "Lenny" Horton, of Illinois, formerly of Millbury, MA passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on February 1, 2015 at the age of 64.
Len was born in Binghamton, NY on November 19, 1950 to Leonard and Teresa Horton. He grew up in a loving family with two sisters and one brother. He graduated from Binghamton North High school in 1968.
Len married RoxAnn Byce in 1974 and they relocated to Poughkeepsie, NY when he accepted an offer of employment from Siemens Medical. The couple later moved to Millbury, MA and raised their two children.
He was a social, active man who was involved with the Millbury Lions Club, and served as the director of their annual July 4th parade for several years. He also enjoyed coaching his daughter's Millbury youth soccer team.
Len was an extremely driven professional with a very well known love for the game of baseball, especially the New York Yankees. Len will be remembered for the love he had for his children, his wit, and the gift of always having a good punch line. After 34 years of service with Siemens Medical, he recently retired as the Senior Director of the RS business unit USA.
Len is survived by his mother, Teresa Horton (Comarco) of Binghamton, NY; his sister, Cathy Zack of Concord, NC; his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Winslow Stimpson of Framingham, MA; a granddaughter, Anna Stimpson of Framingham, MA; brother-in-law, Arnold Salisbury of Chenango Forks, NY; an aunt, Pauline VanDorn of Binghamton, NY; his fiancé, Amy Rabil of Hampshire, IL and her children, Kaitlyn Rabil of Greenville, NC and Brennan Rabil of Clayton, NC; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Horton of Binghamton, NY; his beloved son, Justin "J.J." Horton of Millbury, MA; a sister, Laura Salisbury of Chenango Forks, NY; brother, Gary Horton, of Chenango Forks; Aunt Ann Henneman of Wayne, NJ and Aunt Mildred Comarco of Lake Worth, FL
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11th in Mulhane Home for Funerals at 45 Main St. in Millbury.
