MILLBURY – Lena E. (Dion) Lagerholm, 95, died Wednesday, Dec. 13th surrounded by her loving family.
Her husband, Richard F. Lagerholm died in 1998 and a loving daughter, Donna Evans died in 2011. She leaves a son, Richard E. Lagerholm and his wife, Susan of Millbury, where she received loving care for seven years; a daughter, Janet Hagstrom and her husband, Paul of Charlton; a son-in-law, Robert Evans of Millbury. eight grandchildren, Lisa and her companion, Matt, Karen, and her fiancée Adam, Richard and his wife, Andrea, Kerry, Heather, Michael and his wife Julia, Amanda and her husband Joseph and Paul Michael and Dave Virgilio; thirteen great grandchildren, Kailey, Ryan, Adam, Matthew, Callie, Scarllett, Finn, Knox, Jack, Ian, Jo Jo, Jace, Axel; One great great grandson, Cayden, two brothers, Jean and William Dion; nephews and nieces. She was born in Lowell and is predeceased by her parents, Alphee and Emma (Roy) Dion, two brothers, George and Edward and three sisters, Irene, Rita and Mary.
Lena moved to Millbury where she meet the love of her life and called him Dickie. They were married on Oct. 26, 1944. Lena was a wonderful loving woman to all who were lucky to know her. She loved caring for her grandchildren, family gathering, and enjoyed summers at her Summer Camp in Charlton, where she spent her final years.
Family and friends will honor Lena’s life by gathering for a calling hour from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15th at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. after the calling hour at St. Mark’s Church 356 Boston Road, Sutton. Burial will be at All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Church, 356 Boston Road, Sutton, MA 01590.
