MILLBURY - Leo K. Mitchell, 77, passed away on Dec. 24th surrounded by his family in Saint Vincent’s Hospital after an illness.
Leo leaves his children, Brian L. Mitchell and his wife, Lisa of North Attleboro and Dina M. Jamieson and her husband, Donal of Sutton; a daughter-in-law, Megan Mitchell of Somerville; five grandchildren, Liam, Ciara, Cora, Hendrix and Maizie; a long time friend, Pamela Mitchell of Worcester; two sisters, Audry Lupia and Marylou Drapeau and her husband, Paul; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son, Keith D. Mitchell; his parents, Albert and Margaret (King) Mitchell; two brothers, Lawrence and Albert Mitchell, Jr.
Leo will always be remembered for his friendly nature and sharp wit. He was a loving Father, Son and Brother who appreciated spending time with family. As a young man, his passions included fast cars, snowmobiling, camping and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed photography, golf and playing cards. Leo was a dedicated soccer referee and was a deacon at the First Congregational Church in Sutton for many years. He could always be counted on to lend a hand whether it was to repair a broken car or design the perfect Halloween costume. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Family and friends will honor and remember Leo’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Friday, Jan. 4th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury. His funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan 5th in the First Congregational Church of Sutton, 307 Boston Post Road in Sutton. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org
