MILLBURY –Leonard "Lenny" J. O'Rourke, 91, died Saturday, June 5th in Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Ruth L. (Erickson) O'Rourke; a step daughter, Judith Rogers and her husband Robert of Millbury; four grandchildren, Ronald Rogers of Millbury, Cheryl Kehoe and her husband Daniel of Worcester, Donna Daigneault and her husband Steven of Auburn and Randall Rogers of CT; five great grandchildren, Amanda and Andrew Kehoe, Kayla and Justin Daigneault and James Rogers. He was born in Worcester and predeceased by his parents, John M. and Signe (Thunberg) O'Rourke.
Lenny attended the former Commerce High School of Worcester and Worcester Boys Trade School. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Second Marine Division, fighting in Saipan, Tinian, and Okinowa, Japan. Lenny was a proud World War II veteran. He worked at Wyman Gordon's in Worcester retiring after 38 years. He was a member of the Millbury Golden Age, Charles F. Minney VFW Post, and the Greendale Retired Men's Club of Worcester. Lenny was a proud Irish man and so happy to have been married 62 years to his wife Ruth.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 8th at Noon in All Faiths Cemetery, 7 Island Road, Worcester, MA 01603. There are no calling hours. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury is assisting the family with arrangements.
