MILLBURY – Leonard L. Tessier, 79, died Friday, Oct 16th in the Millbury Health Care Center, surrounded by his family.
He leaves his wife, Rose (Flaminio) Cathcart-Tessier; four children, Denise Palmer and her husband, Robert of Shrewsbury, Joanne Gauvin and her husband, James of Sutton, Theresa Slade of Millbury and Marc Tessier and his wife, Michelle of Barre; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Eric, Tiffany, Shawn, Christopher, Alex and Kayla; four great grandchildren, Ryan, Emmanuel, Julien and Kaylee; three Step children, Kim Lalli and her husband, Michael of Maynard, Wess Cathcart and his wife, Janet of Westford and Daniel Cathcart and his wife, Miriam of Milton; nine step grandchildren, Gina, Kristine, Jackie, Andrea, Brendan, Andrew, Jordan, Campbell and Winston; two step great grandchildren, Michael and Juliet; his former wife, Pauline (Lussier) Banfill of Millbury; Mary Hamelin who was like a granddaughter to him. He was born and raised in Grafton, graduating from Grafton High School in 1954 and is predeceased by his parents, Leodore and Florence (Allen) Tessier.
Lenny was an inspector for the Reed Rolled Thread Die Company in Holden for many years, before he retired. He was a Boy Scout leader for Troop #112 in Grafton and a member of the Knight of Columbus in Grafton and former committee member of the Valley Aires Drum and Bugle Corp. He enjoyed family game nights, traveling, boating, fishing, bowling, hunting and was a CB operator. He sold Christmas trees and enjoyed being Santa Clause.
His calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 72 Cambridge St., Worcester, MA 01603.
