OXFORD / MILLBURY– Lewis S. Janzow, 88, formerly of Millbury, died Monday, Aug. 17th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
He leaves his wife of six years, Lorraine D. (Trottier) Janzow; seven step-children, Peter and John Scales of Worcester, Sharon , Janice and Richard Scales of Leicester, David Scales of Oxford and Carol Beesley of Charlton; five step grandchildren and six Step great grandchildren; nephew and nieces. He was born in Minnesota and is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Clara Janzow, his 1st wife, Sarah R. (Angus) Janzow and a brother Charles Janzow.
Mr. Janzow was a Assistant Vice President and a Claims Adjuster for Aetna Life & Casualty Insurance Company before he retired. He was a Coast Guard veteran and a Lt. in the Merchant Marine, during WW II. He was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge of Masons in Millbury, the American Philatelic Society, the Devoe-Taylor American Legion Post in Millbury and the Allepo Shrine in Willington.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22nd in Grace Episcopal Church, 268 Main St. in Oxford. Burial will be in private. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21st in Mulhane home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital, 51 Blossom St. Boston, MA 02114.
