SUTTON – Lillian V. "Toot" Peterson, 87, formerly of Sutton, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 in Beaumont Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center in Northbridge.
She leaves a brother-in-law, Robert Dahlin of Holden; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Peterson of Sutton; three nieces, Karen A. Dwyer of Sterling, Kathy L. Eaton of Bernville PA and Linda P. Jernberg of Sutton; two nephews, Paul R. Dahlin of Sutton and John W. Peterson of East Brookfield; fifteen great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, John B.R. and Almeda (Skogsberg) Peterson, two sisters, Shirley Delude and Eleanor Dahlin, a brother John W. Peterson and a niece Joyce C. Peterson.
Lillian was a graduate of the former Commerce High School in Worcester and the former Salters Secretarial School in Worcester. She worked at Norton Company for 40 years. At the time of her retirement, she worked in the Benefits Department. She was an active member of the Sutton Women's Club, First Congregational Church in Sutton and was a volunteer at the Sutton Senior Center. She enjoyed travel, golf, family celebrations, spending time at the family vacation home in Bourne, and was a lifelong avid Red Sox fan.
Her funeral will be held Monday, August 22nd at 11 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., in Millbury. Calling hours will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in West Sutton Cemetery, West Sutton Rd., in Sutton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Fellowship of Sutton in care of the First Congregational Church, 307 Boston Rd. Sutton MA 01590
