MILLBURY – Linda Marie Danforth, 75, passed away August 8th at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Arthur and Martha (Johnson) Danforth, Linda was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn (Danforth) Oliver and her brother, Arthur. Linda leaves her niece, Christine (Oliver) Gemme of Millbury; nephews, Dr. Steven Oliver of Belmont N.H., and Douglas K. Oliver of Paxton and two grand-nephews, Richard Gemme and Garret Oliver and one grand-niece, Victoria Gemme.
Linda grew up on Malden Street in Worcester and the family moved to Millbury in 1959. She graduated from Millbury High in 1961 and Worcester State College thereafter. She taught in the Millbury school system for many years. Since 2013, Linda has resided at Care One nursing center in Millbury. There she flourished, involved in many activities; taking care of plants, selling raffle tickets and playing bingo. Linda was the most caring individual that you could ever meet! Linda also leaves behind the love of her life and true companion, Tony. Not a day would go by without the two of them be seen holding hands together, sharing life.
Linda was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Worcester. Family and friends will honor Linda’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Saturday, Aug. 18th from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury. A graveside service will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday, at All Faiths Cemetery, 7 Island Rd. in Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St. Worcester Ma 01607.
