Lionel "Sonny" Clayton Hamer, 81, formerly of Morrisdale, PA died Wednesday, July 2nd in Sunrise of Norwood after a brief illness.
He was born in Morrisdale, PA to the late Harry E. and Beatrice Hamer.
On February 26, 1955, he married Christine Hynd, who survives him. He is also survived by a daughter, Rhonda J. Camann and her husband, William R. Camann, MD of Waban; grandsons, Zachary A. Camann, MD and his wife, Connie of Boston and Andrew Lawrence Camann of Groton, CT; a sister, Jean of TX and a brother, Edward of West Chester; numerous nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Philipsburg High School and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He retired from Crescent Brick Company in Clearfield, PA.
He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, golfing and
his involvement in antiques. He was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Moshannon Lodge F. & A.M. # 391, Williamsport Consistory, Jaffa Shrine of Altoona, PA and a past member of the Clearfield Shrine Club Oriental Band.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation c/o Deborah Hubler, 3644 Allport Cutoff, Morrisdale, PA 16858.
