SUTTON - Lorraine E. (Fayard) Sokol, 77, known to everyone as “Pidge”, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024.
Pidge leaves her husband of 55 years, Paul Sokol of Sutton; her three children Carolyn Deschene of Oxford, Stephanie Bazinet and her husband Andrew of Grafton, and Paul Sokol Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Lunenberg; her five grandchildren Madeline, Lilya, Jonah, Elaina, and Evelyn; her two sisters Linda O’Donnell and her husband John of Hardwick, Carol Jean Fayard-Cox of Worcester, and sister-in-law Sende Fayard of Hardwick. Pidge also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she adored, along with her dog Cooper. Pidge is predeceased by her parents John and Jean Fayard of Worcester and brother Richard Fayard of Hardwick.
Pidge grew up in Worcester where she met Paul, her high school sweetheart. They moved to Sutton where she began teaching in the district. Pidge taught there for the majority of her career before she retired. She and her husband Paul loved to travel, go to the casino, and dine out. While she loved her husband and children, Pidge’s five grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She loved attending sporting events to watch them play and spend time with them at home playing cards or singing along to music.
Pidge had an infectious laugh and was always at the ready to talk, give advice, or support those around her. She is remembered fondly by her family, friends, and former students as loving and generous.
The family has chosen a private service at this time. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Pidge, kindly extend an act of kindness to those around you.
