MILLBURY Lorraine (Leger) Giard Stopyra, 75, formerly of 2 Colonial Dr., died Thursday, Jan. 13th in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Northbridge, surrounded by family and friends.
She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Victor J. Giard Jr. in 1961 and her 2nd husband, Richard Stopyra in1997. She leaves two sisters, Jeanne R. Chase and Nancy B. Matton both of Millbury; several nephews, nieces and cousins. She is predeceased by a brother, Norman J. Leger and his wife Elsie J. Leger. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Leon J. and Blanche I. (Fortin) Leger.
Mrs. Stopyra worked for the family business, Stopyra Meat Company in Grafton for many years. Previously she was a manager for the the Zayre Stores in Worcester and she modeled clothing for several Worcester Stores. After her employment with the family business she worked for TLC in Framingham as a health aide with the elderly. She was a member of St. BrigidTM)s Church
Her funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 17th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be private in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16th in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
