Lorraine B. (Renaud) Zuidema, 98, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on February 24, 2025. Born in Millbury, Massachusetts, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Theodore and Florida (Duhamel) Renaud. 

Lorraine's journey through life was marked by hard work and deep affection and commitment to her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter I. Zuidema. She was predeceased by her son, Gary Tozzi, and is lovingly remembered by her children, Nancy Aucock and her husband Herbert, Alan Tozzi and his wife Linda, Cheryl Wylie, Steven Zuidema, Robin Remillard, and Lori Zuidema Randall and her husband Michael. She was the proud and doting grandmother to Kris Cotto, Eric Chamberland, Shawn Zuidema, Timothy Remillard, Jenna Daughenbaugh, and Michaela Randall. She was the great-grandmother to Samantha Gillian, Brandon and Hailey Zuidema, Beau and Chloey Remillard, and Aaliyah and Blake Daughenbaugh. She leaves behind a niece and nephew and many great nieces and nephews. 

Lorraine was the last surviving of three siblings. She was predeceased by her brother, Oliver Duhamel, and her sister, Doris Gemme. 

Lorraine was a hard worker and known for her dedicated years of service in the local woolen mills, having worked at Schuster’s Woolen Mill and later retiring from Mr. Christmas in Douglas. 

Lorraine was devoted to her family above all, providing a nurturing and supportive environment for all who entered her home. She loved to be surrounded by family and was happiest when she had company. In her earlier years, she loved to travel, shop, and eat at different restaurants. She enjoyed watching TV, and loved her sweet snacks, cozy blankets, and being read to. 

Those who knew Lorraine would describe her as the strongest woman they knew. She was loving, thoughtful, and had a knack for making everyone feel special and valued, often helping others during their time of need. Her legacy is one of warmth, kindness, and generosity of spirit. Her zest for life and her unwavering support of her loved ones will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Lorraine’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Saturday, March 1st from 9 to 11 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury, MA 01527. 

Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with burial in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
