MILLBURY - Louis A. Maloney, 92, of 78 Main St. in Millbury, passed away April 27, 2008 in Sun City Center, Florida.
He leaves his loving wife of over 50 years, Elizabeth (Fish) Maloney. He was born April 4, 1916 to Seward and Hattie Maloney in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. He became a US Citizen in 1939 and served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was employed with Sjogren Tool and Die for over 40 years retiring in 1979. He was an active member of the Bancroft Chapter of the AARP, the Greendale Retired Men's Club and the Millbury Council on Aging. He and Elizabeth spent many great years of retirement traveling throughout the United States and to many countries.
He is also survived by his step-son and daughter-in-law Donald & Erma (Mason) Faron of Sun City Center, Florida, with whom he recently made his home. He is also survived by nieces; Carol Reardon and Judy Toscano of Worcester, Kathryn Holmes of Pelham, MA, Susan Holmes of Bolton, CT, a nephew Stephen Holmes (Gail) of Bolton, MA, 5 grand nieces and nephews, and 7 great-grand nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters Edna M. Hildreth and Rite E. Reardon of Worcester and Muriel E. Holmes of Whitinsville.
His funeral will be held Saturday, May 3rd from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 2nd in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Friends of the Millbury Seniors, 1 River St., Millbury, MA 01527 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
