Louis A. Yuknavich, 42, of Fiskdale, formerly of Harwich passed away unexpectedly Friday November 17th after a long illness. With shattered hearts he leaves behind his mother, Patricia Amorelli of Fiskdale, his father, Alfred Yuknavich and his wife, Carol of Harwich, his sister Yolanda DeGaetano and her husband, Michael of Oxford, his two brothers, Dakota and Dylan Yuknavich of Harwich, his four nephews, AJ, Justin, Zachary, and Michael Jr. DeGaetano, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his Mama and Papa Julia and Frank Amorelli, his paternal grandparents and his Uncle and Godfather, Anthony Amorelli.
Louie attended high school on Cape Cod but Lou’s schooling came mostly from the school of hard knocks. He had many jobs over the years including working for a jeweler and learning the trade and teaching himself about investments and Wall Street so that he could dabble in the stock market. Lou loved movies, one of his favorite being Reservoir Dogs; not because it was violent but because it was so clever. Lou loved music and had a passion for playing the guitar. Most of all Lou loved his family and wanted nothing more than to spend time with all of us. His happiest days were when he was hitting the road to head out west and explore the country. Lou had a way of lighting up a room and he was always the life of the party. He always wanted to be the smartest AND tallest in the room and most times he was. People didn’t call him Big Lou for no reason. As big as he was in stature the size of his heart most certainly dwarfed his physical appearance. I told Lou once that the world was a dangerous place. He said “No it’s not”, you just have to stop watching the news”. With all that ailed him he strove to see the good in people and tried to remain optimistic. Rest easy Lou. This world will not be the same without you in it but we know heaven will definitely be much more fun.
Lou assisted many people with his expertise as a personal trainer, never focusing on the money but the person he was helping. Lou and his mother developed their own version of conflict resolution; No stress, Always love based and whatever it takes to do it right and remember to laugh. His love for his mama, papa, his sister Yolanda, uncles Vito, Frank, Carlo and Anthony Amorelli and their families was unconditional and eternal. Lou at 11 years old was ready for college, this generations Tesla. Health and other issues took him in a different direction, however he used his intelligence and spiritual nature to do good as often as possible. Lou and his mom had plans to make their mother and son team magic work for the good of the family, friends and mankind. From Little Lou to Big Lou much to many and a true gift from God.
Lou’s calling hours will be held on Monday Nov. 27th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main St. in Millbury.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28th in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Lou’s name at St. Luke’s Church in Westboro at a later date.
