MILLBURY – Louise W. (Matson) Thornburg, 91, died Monday, Dec. 20th in the Millbury Health Care Center.
She leaves her husband of 62 years, Charles E. Thornburg; four children, Barbara H. Burmer and her husband, Danny of Millbury, Carl E. Thornburg and his wife, Elaine of West Brookfield, Russell M. Thornburg and his wife, Holly of Millbury and Roger L. Thornburg and his wife Doreen of Millbury; five grandchildren, Robert, Rebecca, Robyn, Sean and Michael; four great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Louis and Ottovine (Nielsen) Matson
She was an active member of the Millbury Federated Church and the Ramshorn Pond Association. During WW II she was a member of the USO organization. She was an excellent athlete and golfer and enjoyed swimming, animals, Summers at Ramshorn Pond and Winters in Florida.
Her funeral service will be held at Noon Friday Dec. 24th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be private in Central Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St. Millbury, MA 01527 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
