Lydia A. (Buniowski) Asselta, 82, died Monday, August 13, 2012 in Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton surrounded by her loving family.
Lydia's husband John J. Asselta, Sr. died in 1987 and her daughter, Barbara J. Johnson died in 1998. She leaves her son, John J. Asselta and his wife, Sandra of Rochdale; two grandchildren, Nicole Giedraitis and her husband, Billy and John P. Asselta all of Charlton; a great grandchild, Anthony Giedraitis; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Kazimierz and Anna (Szalona) Buniowski; a sister, Helen Naleski and a brother, Edward Buniowski.
Lydia took great joy and pride in working at Hebert's Candy Mansion in Shrewsbury for over 40 years. She was a member of St. Brigid Church in Millbury. Lydia enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides of the Overlook Masonic Hospice for all their thoughtful care and support.
Lydia's funeral will be held on Thursday, August 16th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church in Millbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
