Lynn A. Rafferty

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynn Ann Rafferty, who left us peacefully on May 30, 2024 at the age of 73. Born on March 9, 1951, in Sutton, MA, specifically Manchaug. Lynn was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and nana, and a dear friend to many.

Lynn is survived by her loving sons Steven Trottier and Scott Trottier, who were always the pride of her life. Her cherished grandchildren, Amanda Jensen-Wheat and her husband Ben, Rachel Cammuso and her husband Jonathan, Megan Trottier, Steven Trottier, Joshua Trottier, and Joslynn Trottier, will forever remember the warmth and wisdom she shared with them. Lynn was also the proud great-grandmother to one great-grandson, Theo Jensen-Wheat, who brought immense joy to her later years.

Lynn is also survived by her devoted mother, Joanne Rafferty, and her beloved siblings, Teresa Rafferty, Christine Rafferty, Richard Rafferty, and Timothy Rafferty, with whom she shared countless treasured memories.

She was predeceased by her father, Richard Rafferty, her sister, Kathleen Mooney-Rafferty, daughter-in-law Maureen Trottier, her husband, Charles Stover, and her sons, Sean, Charles Jr., and Matthew Stover, who she has now joined in eternal peace.

A proud registered nurse, Lynn also worked as a dispatcher for the Millbury Police Department and was a member of the Millbury Fire Department at one time. She was known for her tireless work ethic, often working two jobs to support her family, and for her welcoming nature, always opening her home to friends and family, especially during her sons' younger years.

One of her greatest joys was visiting the family Cape Cod compound in Eastham, where she shared many happy moments with her cousins, siblings and children. She loved teaching her grandchildren to cook and bake, especially her favorite apple pie, which she would make any time of the year.

Growing up in Sutton, MA, was a source of pride for Lynn, and she instilled in her children a deep appreciation for their roots and a strong sense of family loyalty. She raised her children to always have each other’s backs, no questions asked.

We will miss her dearly, but we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with those who have gone before her. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts and in the countless stories we share about her.

Friends and family are welcome to personally say goodbye to her before the funeral with a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 5th at Mulhane Home for Funeral, 45 N Main St, Millbury, MA 01527, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. 

Followed by Lynn's funeral Mass at St. Brigid's Church, 59 N Main St, Millbury, MA 01527, at 11:30 AM with burial in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
