Margaret C. (Heffernan) Lachapelle-Gauthier, 99, passed away Tuesday, April 11th in Beaumont Nursing and Rehab Center in Northbridge.
Margaret leaves seven children, Richard J. Lachapelle and his companion, Aline Richard of Douglas, Henry D. Lachapelle and his wife, Eileen of Palm Harbor Florida, Margaret A. Goodreau and her husband Claude of Millbury, Marilyn E. Hickey and her husband, Peter of East Longmeadow, Patricia M. Chosta of Northbridge, Joseph P. Lachapelle and his wife, Juliana of Whitinsville and Peter J. Lachapelle and his wife, Barbara of Whitinsville; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild; her former husband, Robert Gauthier of Millbury; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband, Joseph P. Lachapelle; two sisters, Mary Lebel and Winifred Guyette; a brother, Charles Heffernan.
Margaret was born in Worcester to her parents, Charles and Winifred (McDonald) Heffernan. She was the President of the Local AFL-CIO at Standard Yarn Company. Margaret was a clothing spinner most of her life and was a graduate of Grafton High School. She loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family at the dinner table. Everyone will always remembered for her sense of humor and beautiful smile.
The family would like to thank the staff at Beaumont of Northbridge and Salmon Hospice of Milford. The wonderful care she received will always be remembered.
Margaret's calling hours will be held on Monday, April 17th from 9 to 11 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Her funeral service will follow the calling hours with a Funeral Mass at Noon in St. Patrick's Church, 1 Cross Street in Whitinsville. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Whitinsville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
