Marilyn A. (O'Rourke) Sthika, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and close friends on Sunday, May 21st.
She leaves her two daughters, Jerilyn M. (Pellegrini) Hitchings and her husband, Michael of Shrewsbury; Suzanne (Pellegrini) Green and her husband, Kenneth of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Allison, Lauren, and Nathan Hitchings and Elizabeth Green; as well as her partner, Robert Hemming of Millbury.
Marilyn was born in Pittsfield, MA of the late James Vincent O'Rourke and Bernice Ann Ross. She graduated from St. Peter's Central High School and St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Worcester, MA. She was a nurse at St. Vincent's Hospital for almost 50 years.
Marilyn was an exceptional woman whose kindness and compassion was unmatched. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and partner exemplifying the meaning of family. She dedicated her life to caring for others and making those around her feel special and loved.
Marilyn loved music, dancing, ocean breezes, a good book, and spending time with many lifelong friends as well as with her partner, Bob, who was always by her side.
Marilyn's calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 25th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, May 26th at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury followed immediately by a gathering at the Asa Waters Mansion. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
