MILLBURY- Marilyn J. Vecchio, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Marilyn leaves her son, David Vecchio and his wife, Cheryl of Millbury; her granddaughter Kayla Vecchio of Millbury and her grandson Michael Vecchio and his wife Nicole, of Millbury; her two great grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Vecchio, her sister Nancy Nachman of Florida, her brother Ronald Silvestri of Oxford, her sister Carol Spinney of Georgia, her son in law Leonard Audette of Auburn and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her husband Peter Vecchio, her daughter Brenda Vecchio-Audette, her parents Ruth and Rocco Silvestri and her brother Dennis Silvestri.
Marilyn was born in Worcester and moved to Millbury in 1967 where she and her husband Peter lived and raised their family. Marilyn worked at the Village Knoll in Millbury for many years and was very active in the Millbury Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, she enjoyed going to bingo, traveling with Peter and friends, family trips to the Cape and watching her grandchildren at sporting events or dance competitions. She and Peter moved to Magnolia Village in Edgewater, Florida where she got to spend time with her sister Nancy, made many new great friends and was an active member of the Edgewater Fire and Rescue Association and the First Baptist Church New Smyrna Beach before moving back to Millbury to be with family.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Marilyn’s Memorial service on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11a.m. in the Millbury Baptist Church, 17 Main Street in Millbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Suite 200, Bethesda, MD 20814, Saint Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or Boston Children’s Hospital Trust.
