SUTTON –Marion C. (Sullivan) Martin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 26, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Her husband, Richard S. Martin died in 1972. She leaves three daughters, Marianne Martin of Sutton, Maura S. Sirard and husband Stephen of Oxford, Merri-Ellen Charest and her husband Jeffrey of Auburn; six treasured grandchildren, Benjamin, Sophia and Avery Charest, Catherine and Zachary Sirard and her pride and joy, Richard LaFlash. Marion also leaves her sister, Rita Robertson and her husband Bill of Worcester, two brothers, Francis Sullivan and his wife Denise of Leicester and John Sullivan and his wife Alice of Spencer; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was born in Worcester on November 23 the daughter of the late John L. and Catherine J. (Barrett) Sullivan. She was predeceased by three sisters, Helen Westerman, Ruth Federico and Theresa Barrett and one brother, James Sullivan.
Marion worked for the Telephone Company in Worcester for several years. She also worked as a receptionist at the Diocese of Worcester Chancery Office for 27 years. Marion will always be remembered for her quick wit, her wonderful sense of humor and her homemade chocolate chip cookies. She was not only a wonderful mother and grandmother, but to her girls, also their hero.
Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 1st from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 2nd at 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, 356 Boston Road in Sutton. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701.
