Marjorie Knight

February 22, 1919 — February 19, 2013

Marjorie K. (Daubney) Knight, died peacefully in the presence of family on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 just two days before her 94th birthday in the Millbury Health Care Center.

Her husband, Harry C. Knight died in 2003. She leaves a son, Kenneth L. Knight, and his family Paula Ciuffredo and Alexis Healy of Millbury, MA; a daughter, Claudia Barthelmes and her husband George Barthelmes of Wellborn, Florida; a brother, Kenneth Daubney of Bixby, Oklahoma. She also leaves a large extended family of a son-in-law Lowell S. Swenson Jr.; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is predeceased by two daughters, Robin R. Knight and Marjorie E. Swenson, both of Millbury; several brothers and sisters.

Marjorie, the second of four consecutive generations of daughters named Marjorie, lived a long, happy life and loved spending time with her family, especially the many children in the family. She enjoyed baking cakes and for many years baked and sold wedding cakes out of her home on West Main Street, Millbury. She also ran a small daycare out of her home, and worked as a cafeteria worker in the Millbury school systems. Marjorie and Harry spent summers camping and square dancing at her brother's campground, Applewood Campground in Charlton, MA. They could also be found at their warm winter home in Florida or traveling the country with family, friends or as members of the Good Sam camping club. She also enjoyed going to church at Millbury Federated Church, playing the organ, taking care of children, and of course, sitting down to enjoy a good hot cup of afternoon Red Rose tea.

Marjorie's graveside service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28th at 11 a.m. in Central Cemetery, Intersection of West and Waters St. in Millbury. There are no calling hours. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury is assisting the family with the arrangements.
