MILLBURY- Marjorie E. (LeClaire) McArdle, 97, died Thursday, January 24th at Care One at Millbury, surrounded by her family.
Marjorie leaves six children: daughters, Nancy Watts of Virginia Beach, VA, and Eileen Dana of Millbury, and sons James of Carlsbad, CA, Kevin, Dennis and Timothy, all of Millbury. She also leaves twenty grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marjorie was born in Millbury and is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Eva Marie LeClaire, her husband, Vincent J. McArdle, her son, Brian McArdle, twin sons, Walter and Joseph McArdle, her brother, Laurent and three sisters, Theresa, Rita and Glenora.
Marjorie attended the Assumption School in Millbury and graduated from Worcester Girls’ Trade School. She served in the United States Coast Guard from November, 1944 until March, 1946. In addition to being a full-time mother, she was a life-long and passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox, she was an avid candlepin bowler and later enjoyed playing Bingo with friends and staff at Care One. As a young mother helping to make ends meet, she drove a school bus for the town of Millbury and later, until she retired, she worked as a home heath aid with the Visiting Nurses Association.
Calling hours are Tuesday, January 29th from 4 to 7 PM in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Her funeral service will be Wednesday, January 30th with a funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 10 Waters St. in Millbury. Burial will follow in St. Brigid’s Cemetery in Millbury.
