WORCESTER Marjorie E. (Dutton) Cahill Tivnan, 82, of 11 Duncannon Ave., died Sunday, July 16th in the home of her daughter, Constance, wife of Francis Irwin of Auburn.
Her first husband, Francis D. Cahill died in 1964 and her 2nd husband, Joseph R. Tivnan died in 1989. She leaves a daughter, Constance; a daughter-in-law, Ruth (Cahill) Cote of Charlton; three step-children, Patricia Kavanaugh of Plainville, Joseph R. Tivnan of Worcester and John V. Tivnan of West Brookfield; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Dutton of Windham, VT; two sisters, Laura Howe of Jamaica, Vt and Helen Wolke of Freehold, NJ; a close friend, Robert F. Clair of Millbury; nephews and nieces. She was born in Windham, VT daughter of George L. and Clara (Christiansen) Dutton. She is predeceased by a son, David F. Cahill who died in 1996: two brothers, George A. and Stephen A. Dutton and two sisters, Della Stowell and Lilly Moberly.
Mrs. Tivnan graduated from Leland & Gray Seminary in Townsend VT in 1940. She worked at G. Fox & Co. and Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, CT, MKM Knitting Mills in Rochdale, Aetna Life & Casualty Insurance, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed traveling including Alaska and Hawaii and several countries.
Her funeral will be held Friday, July 21st from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. JohnTM)s Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, before the funeral in the funeral home.
