MILLBURY – Marjorie E. (Hassett) White, 82, died Friday, Jan. 1st at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.
She leaves an Aunt, Marjorie Mehew of Rhode Island and several cousins, Harriet Farrar, Marilyn Creelman, and Warren Cusworth all of Rhode Island and Susan Crooker of Florida; two best friends, Carol Mason and Frances Taylor both of Rhode Island. nephews and nieces, Barbara Young and her husband Brian, Christine McMahan and her husband John, Tracy Baroni and her husband Michael, Kim Gilbert and her husband Jeffrey all of Millbury, Robin Proctor and her husband James of Charlton and Nancy Norquist and her husband Steven of Dudley, Joseph Salois and his wife Joanne of Sutton and Donald Salois and his wife Brenda of Millbury; many great nieces and nephews. Marjorie was born in Johnston, RI and is predeceased by her parents, James and Alice M. (Cusworth) Hassett and her husband Donald K. White.
Marjorie lived in Johnston, Rhode Island, North Vassalboro, Maine and Oxford, MA. before moving to Sutton where she lived 33 years and then moved to Millbury in 2005. Employed 32 years at Paul Revere Insurance Co. as Staff Assistant to the president, retiring in 1988. Was a member of Professional Secretaries International, and was past-president of the Worcester Chapter. Marjorie was Worcester Secretary of the year in 1970. In 1971 she earned the designation of Certified Professional Secretary. She was a Fellow of the Life Management Institute. Graduated Winslow High School and Thomas Business College both in Maine. She was a member of the Sutton Golden Age Club, the Friends of the Sutton Elders and the Paul Revere Alpha Club. She enjoys cross Stitching & bingo. Marjorie is a published author having written a children's book "Stories of a Dog Named Misty," being her best friend.
Marjorie's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6th in Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 Main St. in Millbury. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, prior to the funeral service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
