WORCESTER – Martha A. "Peggy" (White) Harding, 79, of First St., died Monday, Aug. 18th in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
Her husband, David I. Harding died in 1990. She leaves three daughters, Beth, wife of Dr. Michael Kempton of Martin, TN, Carol Paranteau of Webster and Lynn Harding-Smith of Holden and her fiancée, Richard McGrail; two sons, David Kevin Harding and his wife Claudia of Gales Ferry, CT and Mark P. Harding and his wife Kimberly of Shirley; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Holyoke and is predeceased by her parents, Philip J. White Sr. and Martha (Erisman) White, a daughter, Kathleen, a brother Phillip White and a sister, Mary Mulhane.
Martha was Past President of Ludlow Street School PTA and the Ty-Cobb Little League. She was a member of Hillcrest Country Club Women's Golf League, the Bancroft Charter of the AARP, the 39er's Club at Coe's Pond Village, the Red Hats Society. She was a former Camp Fire Girl leader and a Cub Scout Den leader for many years. She was a Travel Committee Chairman for the Bancroft Chapter AARP and enjoyed traveling. She was a pen pal to the children at Tatnuck Magnet School for six years and a grandmother to the Special Need Children at Sullivan School for 12 years.
Peggy's funeral will be held Friday, Aug. 22nd from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St., in Worcester. Burial will be private in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21st in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
