Mary Burdzel

MILLBURY – Mary Anne (Boisvert) Burdzel, 67 died Saturday, May 21st in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease.

She is the daughter of Omer M. and Mae (Gover) W. Boisvert. Her husband, William H. Burdzel Sr. died in 1997. Her sister Theresa Lippe is also deceased. She is survived by her 7 children; Frankie and his wife Samantha of Thompson, CT, William and his wife Darlene of Millbury, Joseph of Florida, Tammy Mitchell of Millbury, Trudy Burdzel of Millbury, Judy Bricault and her husband Jean Paul of Thompson, CT, and Mary Helgesen and her husband Carl of Sutton; a sister and best friend, Alice M. Picard and her husband Arthur of Uxbridge; a brother, Francis K. Boisvert and his wife Doris of Oakfield, Maine; 14 grandchildren, Adam, Cheyanne, Cody, Jaclyn, Jean Paul, Jessica, Jocelyn, John, Julz, Katie, Kayla, Nathan, Nicole, and Shawn. She also leaves her extended family whom she lovingly she referred to as her "adopted children". Among these are the friends of her children and the dialysis nurses her cared for her with a love and compassion that will never be forgotten.

Mary worked for several years at Polyclad Laminates, Inc. in Millbury. Her life was devoted to raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a love of photography and enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, Misquamicut, and fishing in Gloucester with her late husband Bill. In the face of great adversity she remained positive and never complained. She will forever be remembered for her love of life, quick wit, and unfailing strength.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 26th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 or to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
