MILLBURY Mary A. (Berthiume) Day, 79, of 20 Rindge St., died Wednesday, March 21st in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
Her husband, Philip J. Day Sr., died in 2004. She leaves a daughter, Mary A. wife of James L. Piscitelli; two sons, Philip J. Day Jr. and his wife, Diana J. Day and Kenneth P. Day Sr. all of Millbury; three sisters, Rita S. wife of Wallace Landry of Millbury, Ann Marie, wife of Armand R. Daigneault of Worcester and Beverly J. wife of Kenneth I. Schold of Millbury; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, Ernest L. and Mary A. (Mahoney) Berthiaume and a brother Earl E. Berthiaume.
Mary and her husband owned and operated the former DayTM)s Used Auto Parts and she managed the real estate that they owned. She was a member of St. BrigidTM)s Parish, the Democratic Town Committee, a secretary for the former Millbury Civil Defense Department, the Millbury Blood Bank and was a member of the Millbury Jaws of Life Committee.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, March 24th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 23rd in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Millbury Fire Department, 126 Elm St., Millbury, MA 01527 or to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts 460 Totten Pond Rd. Waltham, MA 02451 or to the Special Olympics, 450 Maple St., Building One, Danvers, MA 01923, or to the VNA Care Network, 333 Turnpike Rd., Southborough, MA 01772.
