SERVICES ARE STILL BEING HELD AS SCHEDULED
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Diane Brisson (Boutilier), 73, on February 11, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Diane was born on July 13, 1951, in Worcester, MA, to the late Margaret Cristo Boutilier and Lawrence "Boots" Boutilier of Millbury, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephan Allen Brisson of Millbury, MA.
Diane is survived by her brother Lawrence Timothy Boutilier and his companion Linda McGuirk of Millbury, MA; her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Jayne Brisson of South Kingstown, RI; her daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Shawn Rajchel of Millbury, MA; and her cherished grandchildren, Ettalyn, Olive, and Reagan Rajchel. She also is survived by her brother and sister-in-law’s Robert and Elsa Brisson of California and David and Mary Lou of Shrewsbury. In addition, she leaves her beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Diane grew up in Cristo Village, where she created countless memories with her cousins and family. She graduated from Millbury High School in 1969 and went on to have a long and fulfilling career as a dedicated teacher in the Millbury public school system. For over 35 years, Diane was known for her warmth, kindness, and the unforgettable end-of-year pool parties she hosted for her students. Decades later, many of her former students continue to reminisce about the joy and fun she brought into their lives. Diane was a lover of the beach and all things saltwater. She enjoyed many summers at Hampton Beach and most recently visiting Rhode Island with her grandchildren. Diane was also an important part of the Millbury community where she participated in many volunteer activities/roles.
Above all, Diane's children and grandchildren were the center of her world. Family meant everything to her. Diane was a devoted daughter, often seen with her best friend and mother, Marge, shopping locally. She and her beloved husband, Stephan, spent many cherished years together traveling, hosting family holidays, and attending and supporting their children and grandchildren's sports and activities. They enjoyed many years at their home on Hemlock Drive before moving back to Cristo Lane in 2020.
While we will deeply miss Diane, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with Stephan, the love of her life. Her legacy lives on in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the lessons of love, kindness, and devotion she imparted to so many.
Family and friends are invited to honor Diane's life by gathering for visitation on Sunday, February 16th, from 3 to 6 PM in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury, MA. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 17th, at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury, MA, with burial to follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury, MA. Those attending the Mass are asked to go directly to church, with parking available in the rear lot behind the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org a cause close to the family’s heart.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers who provided exceptional care to Diane.
Diane will forever be remembered for the love and joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. She is now at peace with Stephan, and their love will live on in all of us.
