WORCESTER – Mary C. (Melanson) Dufault, 90, a longtime resident of Lutheran Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, Worcester was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2014.
Her husband, Leo E. Dufault died in 2000. She leaves her sons, Edmund N. Dufault of Worcester and Paul L. Dufault and his wife Cecelia Dufault of Holly Hill, FL. She leaves 7 grandchildren, Patricia A. Blakeney, Susan M. Hudson, Paul L. Dufault, Jr. (pre-deceased), William Dufault, Marie Dufault, Edmund Dufault, Jr. and Terriann Dufault. She also leaves 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Gaudette and Irene Letiecq. She was born and raised in Leominster and is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Josephine (Girouard) Melanson and her siblings, Edmund Melanson, Emile Melanson, Leo Melanson, Theresa Dufault and Joseph Melanson.
She loved music, playing her player piano and entertaining. While a resident at Lutheran Home, she enjoyed bingo, art, music as well as prayer and rosary time. Make note that Mary was a cancer survivor. Her favorite color was red with her favorite flower being a rose.
Mary's funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21st in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund of the Lutheran Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, 26 Harvard St., Worcester, MA 01609.
