SUTTON – Mary Ann (Boyter) Ellis, 61, died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 15th at her home, after a long illness.
She leaves her husband of 42 years, Jesse A. Ellis Jr.; three sons, Christopher Whittington and his wife Jo-Ann of Baton Rouge, LA, Darren W. Ellis and his wife, Caroline of Douglas and Eric P. Ellis of Millbury; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Lucy and Lauren; three step-grandchildren, Alana, Matthew and Kyle; a brother, Kenneth "Punt" Boyter of Shreveport., LA; a sister, Sylvia B. McCain of Karnack, TX; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Boyd Boyter and Mary (Wisinger) Patrick, two brothers, Boyd Leslie Boyter Jr. and Billy Joe Boyter.
Mary Ann earned a post graduate certificate and specialized in orthodontic assisting and dental assisting. She practiced these skills for 22 years at Worcester Dental Associates in Worcester, enjoying her co-workers and patients throughout these years. Mary Ann was an avid reader and writer of poetry. She had numerous poems published in books and papers over the years. Her enjoyment came from times spent with her devoted husband and family. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, writing, the beach, and her beloved dachshunds. Mary Ann always thought of others before herself.
Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19th in the First Congregational Church, 307 Boston Rd., on the common, in Sutton. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in Sutton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18th at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital P.O. Box 50 Memphis, TN 38101.
