GRAFTON - Mary E. Empie, 77, of 2 Bailin Circle, North Grafton, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, in St. Vincent Hospital at the Worcester Medical Center, Worcester.
Her husband Leslie C. Empie died in 1973. She leaves a daughter, Judith T. Empie of Charlton; a sister Doris T. Gwozdowski of Millbury; nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by nine brothers and three sisters. She was born in Millbury, daughter of Frank J and Mary (Casey) Faron and lived in Shrewsbury before moving to North Grafton in 1971. She graduated from Millbury High School in 1942.
Mrs. Empie worked for the Massachusetts State Highway Department for 35 years, retiring in 1989.
She was a member of St. MaryTM)s Church and the Retired State, County, Municipal Employees Association
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Marys Church, 17 Waterville St. Burial will be in St. Brigids Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the funeral home. Donations may be made to St. Marys Project 2000, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton, 01536.
