MILLBURY - Mary C. 'Tillie' (LeBlanc) Hooper, 84, of 91 Riverlin St., formerly of Marlboro, died Sunday, Nov. 4, in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester Medical Center, Worcester.
She leaves a daughter, Linda L. Page of Millbury; a son, Alton L. Hooper of Chula Vista, California; a sister, Mary E. 'Betty' Hoban of Millbury; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces in Maine and New Hampshire. She is predeceased by eight brothers and a sister. She was born in Petite Gras, Nova Scotia, Canada, daughter of Simon and Minnie (Bois) LeBlanc and lived in OwlTM)s Head Maine, then in Marlboro, before moving to Millbury two years ago.
Mrs. Hooper worked at Raytheon Company in Waltham for 10 years before retiring in 1983. Previously she worked at the Maine Medical Center, in Portland Maine. While living in Maine she was known for knitting bait bags and nets for the fishermen there.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Nov.10. from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigids Church, 59 Main St.. Burial will be private in Central Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Massachusetts Affiliate, Inc., 20 Speen Street, Framingham, Mass. 01701-4688.
