Mary L. (DiCandia) Kosakowski, 62, of North Grosvenordale, CT formerly of Millbury, MA died Sunday, May 20, 2012 in her home surrounded by family and friends, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Her husband, Andre E. Kosakowski died in 2007. She leaves, three children, Timothy Kupstas of North Grosvenordale, CT, Kimberly A. L'Heureux, and her husband, Rodney of Webster, MA and Sara Kosakowski of Putnam, CT; a former daughter-in-law, Kelly Kupstas of Putnam, CT; five grandchildren; a great grandchild soon be born; two brothers, Victor DiCandia of Oxford, MA and Neil DiCandia of Worcester, MA; a sister, Donna Antaya of Worcester, MA; her father-in-law, Edmond Kosakowski of Sturbridge, MA; brother-in-law Dennis Kosakowski and his wife, Jean of Dudley, MA; many nephews and nieces. She also leaves her best friend Joann Richards of Thompson CT; Tomasz Torski of Webster, MA whom she looked upon as a son of her own and Pam Wagner of Dudley, MA who supported her and her family through her last journey in life.
Mary worked 26 years as a devoted Home Health Aid for Southern Worcester County Visiting Nurses making many cherished friends along the way. She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her pugs Ollie and Olivia, her cat Oscar, cooking, trying new recipes, and gardening. Her favorite vacation spot was in Virginia.
A special thank you to the staff at the Cancer Clinic at Harrington Hospital, SWCVNA and Day Kimball Hospice for all of their care and support over the past 9 months. Mary will be very sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
Calling hours are 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, MA. A Funeral Mass will follow the calling hours at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26th in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury, MA. Burial will be private.
