Maryann (Coursey) Audette, 49, tragically lost her life in a brush fire in Millbury on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Maryann was a beloved member of the community, known for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering spirit.
Born in Whitinsville, MA on August 3, 1975, Maryann spent her life devoted to and passionate about helping others. Despite a lifelong struggle with mental health and addiction, she never gave up hope for a brighter future for herself as well as others struggling in the community.
She was a cherished friend, a loving family member, and a dedicated advocate for those in need. Maryann was known as the “mother” to many of Worcester due to her unwavering love and support for anyone who needed it. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered for her infectious laughter and generous heart.
Outside of addiction, Maryann loved camping in the white mountains and was adamant about personal safety while spending time in nature. She adored the Good Luck Care Bear and any plants she could purchase, loved taking bubble baths, enjoyed cooking and loved listening to Eminem’s music.
Maryann is survived by her mother Donna (Barber) Coursey, her “second father” Richard Santini, her children Robert Audette Jr. and Brianna Rosa, her sister Tiffani Santini, her nephew Aidan Coursey, as well as aunts, one uncle and many cousins. She is predeceased by her father Joseph Coursey Sr. and her brother Joseph Coursey Jr. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Immediate family will hold a private memorial, however a memorial rally and protest to support sanctioned encampments will be held at Worcester city hall on Saturday, November 2nd. In addition to the GoFundMe to support her final farewell, please consider donating to HALO Greater Worcester in Maryann’s memory.
