Matilda "Tillie" (Roukema) Maguire, 95, died peacefully on Saturday, July 18th in Millbury Health Care Center.
Her husband, Ralph V. Maguire died in 1988. She leaves a son, Ralph "Mike" Maguire and his wife, Lucille of Millbury; a daughter, Barbara McManus and her husband, Thomas of Maryland. five grandchildren, Scott Maguire, Lynne Bazydlo, both of Millbury, Jill Trotter of Westford, Thomas P. McManus of Ohio and Catherine Brashear of Maryland; ten great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. She was born in Florida and raised in Whitinsville and is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Teresa (Youngsma) Roukema, a brother, Edward Roukema and a sister, Ann DeVries.
Matilda graduated from Northbridge High School and Becker College in Worcester. She worked for 40 years at the Millbury National Bank, retiring in 1990. She was an avid reader and liked doing crossword puzzles, enjoyed bowling with her friends, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of the Millbury Women's Club and the Millbury Historical Society.
Matilda's calling hours are Saturday, July 25th from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m. both at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Abby's House, 52 High St., Worcester, MA 01609.
