Maureen Trottier

Millbury- Maureen Elizabeth (Plante) Trottier, 55, passed away Wednesday November 23, surrounded by her loving family, after a fierce battle with Lung Cancer.

Maureen is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Steven Trottier, three daughters, Amanda Jensen-Wheat and her husband Ben, Rachel Cammuso and her husband Jonathan, and Megan Trottier, one son, Steven Trottier, one grandson, Theo Jensen-Wheat, her mother Evelyn Plante, father and stepmother,  Bernie Plante and his wife Lynne, mother-in-law, Lynne Rafferty, her brother, Kevin Plante and her beloved nieces and nephews.

The greatest joy of Maureen's life was being a mother; her children were her world, and her love extended to nieces, nephews, and her children’s friends, whom she thought of as her own.  The family dog Mango also had a very special place in her heart. Maureen had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved, and would find any reason to have a party, especially decorating for the holidays and hosting game nights.  Maureen loved family trips to Cape Cod, watching the sunset at the beach, shopping at the Christmas Tree Shop, Crafting and enjoying a Friday beer in her she-shed, which she admirably called “Chateau de la Moe”. She truly loved her job working in the assessor’s office as a Clerk at the Town Hall.  She lit up the office by decorating for every holiday and celebrating her co-workers. Maureen always had the ability to find the light in any situation; even in her final days she was cracking jokes to make those around her feel better.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all the floor six ICU nurses at UMASS that went above and beyond taking care of Maureen, checking in and giving her hugs daily.  They would also like to thank the employees of the Town of Millbury, for the amount of love and support she received throughout her journey.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Maureen’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Tuesday, Nov. 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 30th at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury.

Those attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church.  Her burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
