SUTTON – Maurina Marie (Calabrese) Gingras, 81, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family and nurses after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Maurina was born on November 4th 1936. She spent her childhood growing up on Shrewsbury Street the Italian section of Worcester MA. She was a long term resident of Sutton MA. Maurina leaves behind her Husband Billy J. Gingras. Her children Diana and Husband Dermot Collins of Sutton. Her Son John and Wife Cynthia Gingras of Douglas MA. She is survived by her beloved Grandchildren Maurina, Kaylin,Ashlinn,Robert and Richard. She also leaves 6 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her Grandson Lance and her Great Grand Daughter Rilyn.
Maurina was a devoted nurse and worked many years taking care of Alzheimer patients at Northbridge Nursing home for 28 years until its closing.
Maurina was an angel on earth and will be remembered for her kind heart and all her famous Italian dishes. She will be greatly missed by so many. Heaven has gained another angel and may she rest in the sweetest peace.
Family and friends will honor and remember Maurina’s life by gathering for calling hours on Monday, March 5th from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.
Her funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Mark’s Church, 356 Boston Road, Sutton. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery, Sutton.
