Merrill Dana

September 20, 1948 — February 2, 2007

WHITINSVILLE Merrill A. Dana, 58, of 24 Brooks, died Friday, Feb. 2nd in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 36 years, Elizabeth L. (Rensky) Dana; a son, Andrew M. Dana of Charlton; a daughter, Nicole L. (Dana) Castillo of Whitinsville; two brothers, Mark W. Dana of Millbury and Marshall J. Dana of Montana; three grandchildren, Samuel, Maxwell and Kelsey and nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Morris J. and Mary V. (Proal) Dana and a sister, Meredith Ordway. He graduated from Millbury Memorial High School in 1966 and then attended Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester.

Mr. Dana was a millwork specialist at Home Depot in Worcester for the last 3 years. Previously he was a mechanical engineer for RAD Lock Co. in Worcester. Most recently he owned and operated M.A. Design and with this company was very active in the Blackstone Valley Historical Society. He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War.

His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in West Millbury Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5th, in the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be made to the American Heart Association 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
