Michael Francis Ciuffredo, Sr. passed away at the age of 82 on May 19, 2013 with his loving family by his side after a long fought battle with Alzheimer's disease. He will long be remembered by his family and friends for the dignity with which he faced his illness. He was born on July 4, 1930.

He was the devoted husband of Rojean Elias (Samia) Ciuffredo who predeceased him. She was the love of his life.

He is survived by his six children; Steven T. Reeks of Worcester, E. John Reeks of Millbury, Michelle F. Sargent and her husband, Glenn of Worcester, Michael F. "Chicky" Ciuffredo Jr. and his wife, Doreen of Millbury, PaulaJean F. Ciuffredo and her companion, Ken of Millbury and Sandra F. Frazier and her husband, Travis of Millbury. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, one of which shares his birthday and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his siblings, Domenic "Tommy" Ciuffredo, Rose Erickson, Natalie Bird, Francis (Babe) Ciuffredo, Eva Atchue all of Worcester and his brother-in-law, Edward Samia and his wife Marie of Rochdale. He is predeceased by his parents, Pasquale and Angelina (Antinarella) Ciuffreda, his siblings, Anthony "Jifty" Geofredo, Mary Sheard, Fanny Maenzo, Nancy and Thomas Ciuffredo.

Michael was a member of Local 243 Laborers Union for 25 years at the EJ Cross Construction Company, working on many building projects including the Worcester Centrum and the Worcester Center Galleria retiring in 1984. He then worked as a Chauffeur Laborer for the state, retiring in 1995. He was an Army Veteran proudly serving as a corporal in the Korean War. He was a member of the Italian American Post on East Central Street in Worcester.

His greatest joys were spending time at home with his family and in his garden. Michael loved to travel with his wife. He also enjoyed working at his home on various projects, most of which were thought up by his wife Jean. The family would like to thank the staff for their compassion and caring for Michael during his stay at the Millbury Health Care Center.

Michael's funeral will be on Thursday, May 23rd from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Activity Fund of the Millbury Health Care Center, 312 Millbury Ave, Millbury, MA 01527.
