Michael A. Konisky, 71, passed away on Oct. 22nd at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, after a brief illness. Even though he was there only a short time, he received excellent care and compassion from the staff and his family is very grateful.
He leaves his former spouse, Linda Konisky of Millbury, son Anthony and wife, Nancy of Millbury, daughter Jennifer and fiancé, Nick Viapiano of Spencer, his loving granddaughters Gianna and Julea Konisky of Millbury; his step-mother, Grace Konisky of Worcester; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Janet (Browning) Konisky, his sister Cheryl Lominsky, and his beloved grand-dog Kaylee.
Mike was born and raised in Millbury, where he spent much time on the family property, roaming the woods and fields. He loved to hunt, fish, boat and entertain anyone who would listen to his stories (of which he had hundreds!). He attended Worcester Academy, graduating from Millbury Memorial High School. He later obtained a degree in engineering. He worked a few years for his father's dairy business, Greenwood Dairy.
He later went on to work for Air Products & Chemicals, then to the former Commonwealth Gas Co. where he became one of their top salesmen. He also started his own business, Environmental Tank Disposal, Inc. (ETD) which he was still operating until recently. Mike was known for his ability to fix just about anything, and if "he" couldn't fix it, he always knew who to call.
His calling hours are 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25th followed by his funeral service at 6 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. In Lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be sent to: The Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602.
